Schedule, unsend or recall an email
Once an email has gone, it is usually out of your hands. What you can do depends on timing: schedule it so it waits, undo it in the few seconds after sending, or, inside an organisation on Outlook, try to recall it. These guides cover each one.

How the apps compare
The three work at different moments. Scheduling holds a message before it leaves: Gmail, new Outlook and Outlook on the web keep it on the server, while classic Outlook only sends a delayed message if the app is still open. Undo send gives you a few seconds after clicking Send, up to 30 in Gmail and in Outlook.com. Recall is the only one that acts after delivery, and it reaches only Microsoft 365 work or school mailboxes, usually inside your own organisation.
